PBDE determination by USEPA 1614

Could someone share your lab experience in handling PBDE analysis by USEPA 1614 ?Any tips and tricks, in particular for BDE209 and other higher brominated DE? Thanks

I don't run that method exactly but I do analyze BDE209. What is your specific analytical issue with that compound? Phenomenex just recently released an application note on it's analysis using their new Semi-Vol column. It dramatically, according to their app note, increases signal and S/N for BDE209. I ordered a couple different dimensions of it but I haven't used it yet. https://phenomenex.blob.core.windows.ne ... 057d5e.pdf

I found BDE209 sensitive to injector and column temperature greater than 270°C and thus I use a PTV inlet for ramped temp volatilization. Also On-Column or On-Column-like injections can increase sensitivity of BDE209.
