carryover with ptv

I'm trying to inject 10ul of PNA's onto a Gerstel CIS-4 PTV, the curve range is 10ppb-5000ppb. I am seeing carryover at levels of 2-3ppb. Why?
Any one (or more) of a number of reasons.
Dirt in the inlet, the wrong liner type allowing liquid to run to the bottom of the inlet, a fragment of graphite ferrule somewhere, flashback, inadequate syringe cleaning, dirty rinse solvents, cold spots, etc etc etc.
Effective troubleshooting needs more than a simple statement that a problem exists.
