Has anyone tried to run a 7890A in splitless mode with a 7693 A sampler and Empower software?
We have a 7890A with a 7693A injector and Empower software. We have enabled the Äuto Prep run"from
On the 7890 front panel, press Config.
2. Press the arrow key until the Instrument selection is highlighted, then press Enter.
The panel displays the instrument serial number on line 1 and the Auto Prep Run
parameter on line 2.
3. Ensure that the Auto Prep Run parameter is ON. If not, press On.
4. Press Enter
When a run is started from Empower with Auto Prep Run parameter ON am getting an instrument failure. Is this an expected behavior?
Anyone else experience this or know of a work around?

It may help to shut everything down and restart the router, the autosampler, the GC, and the data system in that order.

If rebooting does not work, try configuring the GC with autoprep run OFF. I know for some of our systems I have to configure the GC this way to get them to work with Empower. Sorry, I can't remember which models I do this for but I know for some it is required. Good Luck

Hello All,
Thanks for all the posts.
I have been doing a bit of research from my side as well on this topic. From what i understood, for 6890 GC the Auto Prep run has to be enabled through config settings, but for 7890 GC the Prep Run is taken automatically when you start a RUN. Hence as far as 7890 GC is considered the Auto Prep run can be turned OFF while starting a RUN.
