NPD with H2 Carrier

Howdy!

I'm curious if anyone has tried using hydrogen as a carrier gas with a nitrogen phosphorus detector. I recently switched my 6890 from helium to hydrogen due to cost and availability. I haven't been able to mess with it much yet, but I thought I should see if anyone has some experience I could learn from.

Thanks!

It should work fine as long as you keep your total H2 flow to spec which is 3ml/min (5 max) so most of that is coming from the column carrier flow.

Good point. My total flow was 5.5 mL/min and I was having trouble igniting. I dropped the total down to 3 mL/min and it's igniting like a champ.
