Thermo recently lauched a new generation of probes and housings. Here all external connections have been eliminated and this is a major improvement over the older style probes! I don't have a big problem with the older style probe but some of the connections could be a pain.

The newer design also helps eliminate background but as I have not struggled with back ground before I have no feeling on this improvement yet..
