Encapsulated Bonding Technology ?

hi
just came across 'Encapsulated Bonding Technology' from ACE , by which they claim to 'dramatically increases ligand coverage of the silica surface and effectively eliminates the effect of unbonded silanol groups from separations'.
was wondering how they are achieving this ? and what do they mean by 'Encapsulated bonding technology' ??

I'd suppose this is marketing speech for polymeric bonding :D .

The ACE Encapsulated Bonding Technology (EBTâ„¢) is an evolution of traditional monofunctional silane bonding. Advanced Chromatography Technologies have developed a unique bonding process using proprietary custom manufactured silanes. This technology dramatically increases the ligand coverage of the silica surface and effectively eliminates the negative effect of unbonded silanol groups. In addition to improved inertness, the higher ligand coverage results in improved chromatographic performance and stability.

ACE SuperC18 UHPLC and HPLC columns incorporating Encapsulated Bonding Technology were launched at Pittcon 2013 and extremely well received by analysts. From 1st January 2014, the range of UHPLC and HPLC columns available with this novel bonding technology has been further expanded by the introduction of the ACE UltraCore superficially porous particles, which are available with SuperC18 and SuperPhenylHexyl chemistries in 2.5um and 5um particle sizes.
