I am trying to develop a method for oxytocin in vegitables by our thermo quantum max LCMSMS.We are getting some two peaks for standard.one at RT at 2.6 and another at 9.1 with almost the Same intensity. Why This happens.Another doubt is we are using European Phamacopia standard in the bottle it is mentioned that 0.96mg per Ca but on weighing we are getting some more quantity is the total oxytocin in bottle is only 1 mg or we have to calculate according to the weight taken.

With multiple peaks and oxytocin being a peptide containing a disulfide linkage, my first thoughts are how the sample has been handled and stored. I note http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22257021 and http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1 ... 0/abstract - which prompt me to bring this up.

Someone who has handled oxytosin may have encountered something like this, but without knowledge of column or gradient, it is a bit diffucult to know what is going on. A bit more in the way of details would help.

And keep us posted with where this leads. The posting caught my attention immediately as oxytocin is considered to be a mamalian hormone, so finding it in plants could be interesting.
