Hello everybody,

I got some issues with a prostar 335 detector, which is connected to a computer running galaxie 1.9.
The connection to the detector is established (I can turn the lamps on and off and I see the actual measured values), but when I start a sequence using this detector, no data is recorded, although the detector shows the actual values while the sequence is running. A second detector (LC-380 ELSD), connected to the same system records data well in the same sequence, while the prostar 335 doesn't record anything. The timeline says "-0,01 min" and stays there.
After a while the prostar 335 shows an error message saying that the runlog file is empty.

This doesn't seem to be an issue with the detector itself, for it is running perfectly, when it is connected to another computer (same windows version and also galaxie 1.9).

I have already reinstalled all drivers (for detector and network card) and I have dismounted a second network card from the computer, so there is just one left.

I would be really glad, if someone could help me!

thanks in advance!
Close the VIS lamp please!!!Had this issue also.
Hello

Sometimes, the Method files are getting corrupted in galaxie - especially old and often used methods.

So creating a new method can also help.

best regards
Chris
Thank you very much for your replies! Unfortunately your suggestions didn't solve the issue. Maybe you got further ideas how to find out the root of this problem?
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Hello

In what state ("ready", "running"....) is the detector if you run a Method?

best regards
Chris
Hello. Running the exact same system as you, Galaxie 1.9, Prostar 335 and Varian 380 ELSD.

The previous owners told use that apparently trying to connect the 335 and ELSD in series is a big no-no. I plan on trying to attempt it this weekend, but after hearing your problems, I'm somewhat skeptical of success. Did the two detectors in series ever work for you under Galaxie? Have you found a solution to the problem yet? Please let me know, thanks.

I really hate Galaxie... :x
Hello and sorry for not replying for such a long time!
I have been trying to work out that problem, but couldn't figure out a solution... :(
Actually I am setting up a new computer for the HPLC-sytem, hoping that it will work with the new computer. The prostar 335 does work with another computer in our lab, so I'm hoping that the computer change will help.
I'll keep you updated!
Please also tell me, when you found a solution!

regards,
Benni
Hello

I did set up und run systems with the 335 and ELSD without running in trouble.

There are several possible settings that can cause this - too much to write them all here.

Benni, as you are also german based, we can discuss your problem on telephone.

If you give me a e-mail adress, I can send you my number.

Best regards
Chris
Hello Chris,

thanks alot for the help you are offering! I have nearly finished setting up the new PC, that is intended to control the hplc system in the future. If I run in trouble with that configuration also, I will contact you! Is there a possibility to send private messages in this board? I cannot find any...

best regards,
Benni
