Hi everybody,

I have a strange issue on my Quattro Ultima Pt: MS2 scan gives nice peaks, MS1 scan gives only a flat line - see image for illustration:

Daughter scans also don't work. I don't understand what is going on here. MS1 must be active, otherwise no ions at all would be able to travel through to MS2 for analysis, is this correct?
Any idea what happened?

Thank you,
Jörg
Set both MS1 and MS2 to mass 1000, span 1 gain 1 and check rectified RF on Diagnostic page for both modes
You have first increase your span to 50 then you show broad peak. You have to made some adjustments in the main board to narrow the peak if it is not adjustable you have to change the main board. The same type of problem is observed our quttro micromass LCMSMS and at last have change the main board.Better to call a service engineer
Thanks for the replies. I have had a call with a technician, we found out that the fuse in the RF generator for Q1 was blown. I changed the fuse, but when testing Q1 it blew again at masses > 3000. So something is really wrong inside, I will leave it to the technician.
