probem with Varian/Bruker GC-450

Hi,
we have changed the faulty CPU Board (X-board 450-GC programmed) of Varian GC-450 with new ones & after configuring the setup with old parameters we are facing a problem, when we load the method a message appear
"start Direct Device Download: System configuration is no valid(or communication problem)"
system log message= Method conflict with setup, method adjusted!
we are using the Galaxie software with Fixed IP.

An urgent solution is required in this regard.

Sounds like the new board is having trouble communicating with the old equipment.

Check to make sure the version of the two boards are compatible. Varian liked to update there instruments without changing the model number

Also, I believe there is a small "sub board" on the main board that does the communication. check to see if the number match the old board.

I think we need to upgrade the firmware, for this we need the firmware upgrade tool that we don't have.
May we request you to please us in providing the firmware upgrade tool.

I think that is software you need to get direct from Bruker. Contact your local sales rep for options.

Hi,
I updated the firmware 3.03 from firmware 3.02 but still have the same problem. When i try to upload method from galaxie workstation, i recieve the same message of method conflict and the invalid configuration (or communication problem).

We are suffering due to this problem. please suggest us some solution to resolve this problem.

Indeed, I'm not surprised it doesn't work better after have upgrading the firmware 3.03 is the same than the 3.02. Brücker has acquired the 4x0 GC series and then this firmware is juste the "Brücker designed".
I'm surprised that Brücker just told you to upgrade and didn't help you more...

If you have a message in Galaxie saying that there is a setup or config issue, it means that there is a setup or config issue between the GC and the method. Certainly the GC config has changed (even a little thing), whereas the method has been created using a different configuration.
If you trust the GC config, then, I'm afraid you will have to recreate the method from scratch.

You should contact the Galaxie support at Brücker, they should be able to help you.

Which firmware were you using before changing the faulty board ? Also, after have changed the firmware you should upgrade the Galaxie driver, as the communication "module" depends on the firmware used. So if you use an old driver version, it may not work with a recent firmware. Do you know which driver version you are currently using ? You should use the driver version from 1.3.2.436 (cf the VARIAN_GC450_IMM.dll file version located in the C:\Galaxie\Server\Devices folder)
