Hi,

Just wondering if anyone on here has any experience of controlling Agilent 1100s with Labview? Or, indeed, programming for their ICF?

We use a couple of Agilent 1100s for a number of different projects, where the main control system is a Labview VI, and where our autosampler programs and triggering protocols are getting increasingly complicated to get the LC software to talk to the VI (and vice versa). I woudl like to be able to control the LCs within the VI. There are Labview drivers for Agilent 1100s, but they're from ca. 2005-6 and not supported by NI or Agilent - not a good sign! So...

Question 1 - Does anyone have any experience in whether I should spend time with them? Only one posting here, which doesn't bode well...

Question 2 - Has this been superceded by the ICF framework, and does anyone who is not a professional software developer have experience in this (I sit next to one in myoffice, so I'm not completely without support, but an idea of how big a project it would be to do simple things would really help...)

Question 3 - If I can't do this, which HPLCs should we be buying next time that can???

Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction (or put me off entirely...).

Cheers,

Andy
Andy, yur post to this forum is the right place. I can bring you in contact with the right people responsible for ICF in Waldbronn. Please PM me on freekunderscorevarossieauatagilentdotcom and i guide you further.
ICF delivers full control on the Agilent LC hardware and allows you to communicate to the ICF framework. THis then allows you to focus on your software and not bother about the nitty-gritty details of the driver itself.

Thanks again Freek.

The wheels are turning now, and it seems Agilent are shaping up to be a LOT more helpful than any other instrument manufacturer I've had dealings with.
