Hello,
i hope i'm not putting this topic in the wrong section. Could you please inform me is there is an alternative product for chromatography separation of hemoglobin a2? I was using deae DE52 pre swollen cellulose which is not anymore commercially available from Whatman. Thank you in advance
DE52 cellulose is technology that's 50 years old. There have been some advances in hemoglobin analysis and isolation in the interim. Here's an example of the analysis of a hemolyzate that's elevated in hemoglobin A2, using a PolyCAT A column in the cation-exchange mode [key to peaks:
1.353': hemoglobin A1c
1.678': hemoglobin F
2.422': hemoglobin Ao (the big peak)
2.818': hemoglobin A2]
