hi,everybody! I am using varian 320 prep, last time I find that the system pressure was too high, about 1600psi at 80ml/min ,but when I disconnect the lines between the column and the detector ,I found that the system pressure did decrease at 990psi,I do believe that somethong wrong with the detector , in fact ,I think that my detector was blocked ,if it is the trueth ,what can I do next?

You must evaluate all probable points. Did you use buffers in you system?
What is the normal pressure of your system?
Have good elutions!!!
