Are there any MassLynx v4.0 still left out there??

If I want to run a large number of samples with the run ending after work hours I would then like to be able to turn off the LC pumps/cone voltage/capillary voltage/desolvation heat/all gas flow etc however this doesn't seem to be as straight forward as it sounds.

When performing a run this is the procedure I currently follow;

1) Load the relevant tune file into the tune editor (the only parameters of which that change during the run are the cone voltage and collision energy as defined by the MRM (or other) method)

2) Load the required LC method onto the inlet editor page. I then have to manually upload the method to the LC

3) Switch the solvent flow on

4) Highlight the samples in the sample list and start the run.

If I follow this procedure the pumps carry on after last sample until I manually turn it off.

One way I have thought about to try and achieve my aims is to create an extra sample at the end of the run and use an inlet (LC) method in which I've set the flow to o.o ml/min and the run time to 0 min. Unfortunately this did not work and I'm not sure whether it would considering there's no means to manually upload a new LC method mid-run.

The other way I thought about was to perhaps create a completely different experiment in which the tune file settings are all in 'off' settings, with an LC method as described above and then put this 'experiment' in the queue to run immediately after my samples. Even with this solution all the fields in the sample list need to be completed therefore the LC will still try to prepare a sample for injection before commencing the gradient. This seems quite an extremely clumsy resolution to my problem so I'm guessing it cannot be the right one BUT there doesn't seem to be an immediately obvious and logical answer.

Yes I am a noobie and the masslynx manual only seem to be useful as a reference tool and NOT a means to teach yourself LCMS so I apologise if this seems rather a basic question but I'm clutching at straws here!!! :-)

to shutdown the last sample we inject is water using an HPLC method to clean the column: 100 % water at 0.4 ml/min for 10 minutes followed by 100 % acetonitrile (or methanol) at 0.4 ml/min for other 10 min. and we finish with a flow gradient to 0.05 ml/min. final flow (you cannot program the inlet method for 0 ml/min with this instrument). We set the column temperature to 25ºC. Then we program a shutdown very similar to the one "seskapile" suggested.
