Separating two peaks

hello,

I'm doing a limit test of dichloroacetic acid and monochloroacetic acid for lauryl dimethylamineacetic acid betaine

The problem is that the peak of dichloroacetic acid and a one of the peaks from the test substance have the same retention time.
which parameters should i change in order to separate those two peaks?

I hope the question is clear...

Thank you.

Use a column with a different stationary phase.

You have given no conditions, so if you are using a capillarly column, set the flow such that the linear velocity in the GC column is between 22 and 35 cm/sec. If the flow is faster than this, column efficiency will be degraded. And, if you are looking at peaks that elute early in the chromatogram, sometimes dropping temperature or oven ramp rate can help.

Let us know what instrument, conditions, etc. you are using and show a picture of the chromatogram and help may be a bit mroe specific.
