Looking for boiling chips for fatty FAME preparation

Is anyone know which boiling chips will fit to fatty acid esterification? The requirement should be chemical inert to BF3-Methanol and 0.5M sodium hydroxide in Methanol, as well as fat free.

Small glass beads should work. They can be prewashed if necessary.

A few small (~5x5 mm) pieces FRESHLY chipped from a ceramic mug make great boiling chips. A mug can be obtained from a yard sale or goodwill for a few cents.

We don't use boiling chips when we do this. And doesn't matter whether the sample is for triglyceride samples, fatty acids, or soaps.

Thank you very much to all of you! I have found an ultra-pure PTFE boiling stones. I hope it will work.
