Test Mix

The down side of a commercial test mix is you probably don't have a chromatogram for when the column was new. Another possibility is to make up your own test mix along the lines of NIST SRM 870. There is baseline data on a fair number of popular columns.
The down side of vendor test mixes is that they are usually selected to make their particular column look good and may not be the best for demonstrating the effects of column aging over time.
