Hi all,

I want to define column parameters in Varian CP-3800 gas chromatograph. Unfortunately cursor keys (at the right hand of the panel) don't work. Is there another way to define column parameters?

Could the panel be fixed or I must replace it totally with an new?

Thanks.

Are the cursor buttons the only ones that don't work? Out of curiosity is this the original control panel on the instrument?

I had a similar issue not long ago and had to have the panel replaced, but in my case none of the buttons would work. I'm told that in years past we also had the screen go out multiple times. Our service tech suspected we have dirty power and we're getting a UPS before we turn the thing on again, but who knows if that will help.

I don't know if a control panel *can* be fixed, since our tech just ordered a new one.

*the sof-key pads are repairable by yourself; 1) peel back the cover strip, 2) spray "computer keyboard" air on them--the same spray bottles for poofing out air.

Thanks dear Meerkat

You think cursor keys may be deactivated by dust, do I understand this correctly? If so, can I used air pump instead of spray for more effective cleaning?
Should I separate panel completely from the instrument?

Thanks.
