I have been trying to quantify water by GC/MS and am getting poor linearity. What about by TCD? Does that work
well for water?

Yes. You can also use a pHID. But I always have used a TCD.

Rod is right, TCD as well as PDHID will works.

You can also run it very good with PED from LDetek. It can detects water from ppb to percent with the PED.
Please contact me at dgagne@ldetek.com and I can share chromatogram with you.
