calibration of mass spectrometer

Hi guys,

I would like to know something about instrument calibration. (Although I do not need to take charge of that =P)
The MS instrument is Waters ACQUITY TQD, NaI/CsI solution is commonly used as calibration solution.
And I would like to know if it is possible for those ions to attach the quadrupole. Are there any reason why NaI/CsI is good for calibration?
I am just curious and would be grateful if you reply. Thanks =]

NaCsI won't stick to the quad, but they will foul a bit the source. I think that now Waters suggests to use sodium formate for calibration (that's what I use with success)

Recipe for Sodium salts used to calibrate TOF
For Sodium formate:

10ml Water
10ml Isopropanol
40ul Formic Acid
200ul NAOH (1 molar)
All solvents must be of highest quality.
