Chromeleon 7.1 questions about instillation

We recently purchased Chromeleon 7.1 to run 3 ageing instruments (2 waters HPLC’s and 1 5890 FID). The software was to be installed today but we ran into a few problems that were not brought to our attention by the sales person that we worked with. I am hoping that someone can help with suggestions or work arounds to my questions.

1st One of the waters HPLC’s has a 717 plus auto injector. The instillation specialist informed us that the 717 plus auto injector does not work with Chromeleon 7.1 it only has functionality with Chromeleon 6.8. Does anyone know if it will work with Chromeleon 7.2?

2nd We have a Waters GPIB board for the 4IE cable connection in-between the computer and the instruments. The instillation specialist said that Chromeleon will not work with the Waters GPIC board. Is this correct?

Thank you in advance

Chuck

Hi Chuck,

Unfortunately I have to confirm what you have already been told :(

Currently (AFAIK) there are no plans to include the 717 in CM 7.2 and so your only option would be CM 6.8.

With regards to the Waters GPIB, this is also correct. You will need to source the PCI-GPIB from National Instruments (alternatively your local Sales Rep should be able to do this for you) See Link below to NI Website. In this case though, your PC will need a Full PCI slot and not PCI Express is has become the norm in most PC's these days.

Thanks
