Is anyone using the Agilent 1220 LC on their Empower software?

Hey Rob, not sure if Empower controls it at all. If they are using ICF probably. Else the better alternative is OLCDS EZChrom for them

Hi Freek, the latest driver release from Waters, ICS v2.1 Hf1 (May 2013) for Empower 2 & 3, controls all the Agilent 1220/1260/1290 modules and some earlier models. This particular lab already runs Empower as its CDS and is adding a 1220 to its 1200s and so would like another user to confirm it all runs OK in advance of installation.
(With all due respect to EZChrom, of course)

Hi Rob,

Cool to know, though it doesn't answer your question...Empower 3 can actually control a 1290?! Interesting...I don't suppose Empower 3 can gather DAD data from these latter-day Agilent systems, or can they?

Hi Matt, yes it can!

My thanks for that information, Rob. We use 1100/1200 Aglilent systems with TotalChrom and instrument control via the "GameBoy" hand-held controllers, kind of dumb in my small opinion. If only I had the cash or the persuasive skill to get management to switch over to Empower 3...if wishes were fishes then everyone could eat...another of our locations is a bit more with it and has been using Empower for Years.

Maybe someday...

Just to close off on the thread topic...

No other comments received but in the meantime the Agilent 1220 is connected and working fine on Empower and user training completed.
