I was told that one should not use a virus checker when using Waters Empower 3 software, even if you have the online monitoring between Empower and Waters Corp. The reason given was that the virus checker can interfere with, or even corrupt, the software. Surely this can not be true.
Who told you that?

Basically, you need to make sure that there is no scanning of the Empower data folders on LAC/Es or the application server and you need to make sure that there is no port scanning/intrusion prevention software (eg: McAfee HIPS) interfering w/ communication between server & LAC/Es or between clients and LAC/Es.
Thanks,
DR
