Dear all,

do any of you know if this is possible? we are trying to use a fluorescence detector from on a Gilson HPLC system, is there a way to control the fluorescence detector and the hplc via some software?

Thanks for your help,

You can control Jasco 920 (Gilson 122) detector from Unipoint software. But you need Gilson 606 GSIOC To RS232 Converter.

Thanks for your reply.

Actually it turned out that it's not an Agilent but a Jasco fp-2020 fluorescence detector. Apologies for my dumb question but how do I connect it to the gilson HPLC interface module on a very basic level? I am using trilution as software.

Thanks

I hate to say this, but your best bet would be to contact Gilson. Trilution is really aimed at controlling fraction collection; I took a look at the user manual (800 pages!), and it pretty much assumes you're using Gilson hardware.

Just to summarise how it went.

I contacted Gilson directly. It was easy in the end. I just connected the "rec out" at the back of the detector to the controller of the Gilson making sure to keep the polarities. Once done that, I made sure to enable the same channel I connected the detector to on the software (trilution in this case).Simple as that.

Jasco customer service also provided the manual for the detector, I could do a few more things with the other connectors but for now just being able to see a signal is sufficient.
