Dear Friends,
hi,
I have to develop a method to determine the acetic acid in AIP which is insoluble in water.
We have will known method for water soluble API by HPLC.
When i tried other diluent in place of water, response of acetic acid is very poor and not a perfect peak obtained.
I also tried the the same work on GC,but not achived the result.
Pl. share your experiance.
Regards,
Pawan kumar

Hi Pawan,

If you can dissolve it in 80% acetonitrile try using a HILLIC method.

Just google "acetic acid by hillic" for a good starting point.

HILIC only needs one "L"

Searches work best when the spelling is correct! ;)

Haha that's true. Google usually asks me if I meant something else.

You can try to extract AcOH with water and then test clear supernatant.
