Recently loss of prime happened in my 2695 seperation module and lots of bubbles were found in the seal wash tube as a consequence of that. I tried to use a syringe to apply suction from the seal wash tube but the bubbles never went away. I also did 'prime seal wash' for many times but it didn't seem to help.

At the moment the bubbles in the seal wash tube seem to have no impact on the performance but I know they will kill the pump seal slowly if I don't do anything...


I am still relatively new to HPLC, can anyone here give me any ideas about how to get rid of the bubbles in seal wash tube?

I would appreciate very much for any suggestions!!!!!!

Use the syringe on the seal wash tube, when you do a prime seal wash line. do you hear a click of the seal wash pump? It is a solenoid activated valve and click's with each pulse. Put the syringe on the seal wash outet and pull the liquid through it. You could also have a loose connection at the seal wash pump and air is getting in.
