Protein stuck on C18

I bought an ACE 5 C18 column for studying folding of B-lactoglobulin
the vendor emailed me a method used by a tech in Reading... which I tried and no luck

it seems pretty dumb now to inject a 18.4 kD protein onto C18...

they used 0.01% tfa in water/mecn, as opposed to 0.1%
is there a reason for this or a typo?

ACE. makes C18. columns on both 100 and 300 A silica. The.300 is what you need for proteins.

Re the TFA concentration, ACE makes a (justifiably) big deal about the purity of their silica, which lets you get by with less TFA.

By way of full disclosure, we have done consulting work for ACE.
