Ask for software information for Shimadzu GC/MS system

Hello,

I have a GC-17A and GCMS-QP5050A. I'd like to know what kind of software can control this system? Does any body know the part number for the software? Does the computer need a board for communication between GCMS to computer, if yes. I'd like to know the part number for board and for cable.

You've got two options:

Class-5000 - if you can still find it. The software has been discontinued and the last version I know of is 3.00. It probably won't run on later versions of Windows (almost certainly not on Vista/7 and maybe not XP). Windows 95 would be the best bet.

GCMSsolution - this is the current GC/MS software from Shimadzu, although the latest version doesn't support the QP5050A. The last version to support the QP5050A is 1.21. This version is compatible with Vista.

For either of these software packages you will need a PCI SCSI card to go in the PC. Recommended SCSI card is the Adaptec 2940 Ultra. Cable is a 2m one with high density 50pin D-sub connectors (Shimadzu part # 015-50669-22).

I would highly recommend you contact your local Shimadzu office to discuss your options.

Hello,
Until now, I was using the software class 5000 ver.2 with ISA card on windows 95.
I would like to install on a newer computer (Pentium III with Windows 98) gcmssolution 1.21. Can anyone give me some advice on software installation?

Hi Marek


You have to start with DAO installation. During that choose DAO to be installed with Jet 3.5 component only. Unmark all other data formats yoy will be asked about.

After that continue with standard installation and confirm installation of html help files.
