HP/Agilent Chemstation Error Code 8026

HP 6890A GC with G1512A controller using 6890 Sers Injector on a 5972 MSD. OS is Windows 95 running G1700AA Ver.A.03.00.
Instrument error reports during injection preparation at the same point during each attempt. Chemstation reports as follows:
Fatal Sequence error detected.
Instrument Control reported error code = 8026
Instrument Control: "Neither GC nor MS data collected; Consult Logbook".
Calling technical support has not solved the problem as of yet. Any help on this or translation of the error code 8026 would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!!

On a newer system 6890/5973 running G1701CA, as a MS Error that code generates a slew of possible errors. I had it convenient so here they are. In my experience I would say these will mostly carry over to your older instrument... not sure though. We have no 5972's here.
Difficulty with HED supply
There is no emission current
Difficulty with the fan
The Foreline pressure has exceeded 300mTorr
The System is in VENT state
Difficulty with the electron multiplier supply
Lens supply fault
Temperature Control Fault
Muxed ADC error.
Looking at the error "Fatal Sequence Error" I actually think that you are getting a error from the sequence syntax or something. Maybe a corrupt .s file. Have you recreated the sequence file. hopefully you figured it out by now.
i commonly use the logging macro as a diagnostic tool to see where its getting hung up for stuff like this.

Thanks for the reply. I hadn't considered using the logging macro to track the error. It must be more useful than the sequence log. The instrument log shows a syringe error but the tower works on two other instruments.
Cheers.

Hi,
Did you find a solution to the problem below?
Fatal Sequence error detected.
Instrument Control reported error code = 8026
Instrument Control: "Neither GC nor MS data collected; Consult Logbook".
Please let me know. Thanks.

Even though the tower works on a different unit, I think the issue is still related more to the injector than the MSD.
If me, I'd try a different tower AND a different G1512A box on the GC-MSD unit. Remember to turn off the power before switching any G1512A cables.
Clean off the injector's stainless steel guide rods too, these get forgotten many times.

I know this post is old, but considering it was resurrected after 2 years:
When I get a "Fatal Sequence Error", it usually means that there is something wrong with:
1) The sequence
2) The autosampler
I don't want to patronize, but have you remade your sequence and checked all of the vial locations? The #1 thing for me is that I stuck a vial in the wrong spot, and that gives the same fatal sequence error error code 8026.
