Discussions about GC-MS, LC-MS, LC-FTIR, and other "coupled" analytical techniques.
It was cleaned recently - probably less than 20 injections since. It's been cleaned several times since this started happening and it happens every tune, even the first one after cleaning. It's normal. I think it has something to do with calculating the gain factor.
Still sleepy. I don't get that messsage . Tuning @2100 , when was the last time the source was cleaned? How many peaks are there shown in the spectra window. If it's more than 200 you should clean.
Thanks for the reply. To further elaborate, I believe it is trying to set up another tune file (gain.u ??)that uses whatever gain factor you have selected - when the base tune sets the EM to 2100, it is likely trying to use a setting higher than the 3000V max, so the software routine fails. Agilent tells people to replace the EMV earlier than many labs are used to is all.
