Metrohm 850 Problem...

Hello --

We have a Metrohm 850 IC system. About a week ago, the power supply died. We were able to send off the power supply for repair and once again it is working. However, there are now other problems (these problems actually haunted us shortly before the power supply died). The top anion pump does nothing when you set it to 5mL/min in the software and it reads back at 5mL/min. The bottom pump, when set to 5mL/min, makes an audible noise when set to 5mL/min, but nothing comes out of the purge line. The MSM cannot be stepped to the next position. Otherwise, the other components seem to work ok such as the degasser and peristaltic pump.

I'm guessing this is a problem with one of the electronic boards? Does anyone have any suggestions as to which board(s) is the most likely culprit based on these specific symptoms? Or is there another component within the system we should consider?

Thanks for any suggestions!!

Dear AThompson

If it is a board problem, which I could imagine, it most probably is the main board. Anyway I strongly recommend to contact your Metrohm Agency to have a Service contact.
In case of an touble please do not hesitate to contact me directly (lae@metrohm.com).
