PICLORAM LOW RECOVERIES METHOD 8151

Im experiencing very low recoveries extracting picloram in soils samples. Recently we fail a PT study on that compound. Have anybody have that problem experiencing low recoveries??

any help will help a lot

We use the SW846-8151A

Read through this SOP written by CAS lab. It's very similar to 8151 but has some tweaks. The general idea of the extraction is the same however. I have found it is very important to make sure that the soil is acidic. Also, extracting with ethyl ether rather than methylene chloride seems to be a little more efficient in regards to recovery.
