Hi guys,

I know this has been discussed before (in Nov 2004, to be exact), but I'm having serious trouble with my Quattro Micro.

tayzyboy discribed the error as follows:
The aquisition hangs and the software thinks it is still aquiring data. The LC side of the instrument carries on as normal.
The error seems to happen randomly, sometimes a run will be fine, other times it will "die" during an important sample.
I've got the same error and also tried the same fix (rebooting the embedded pc). My problem is that the error is all of sudden occuring six times in a row. Which means I have to reboot the epc every time and do the analyses all over.

I would call waters (will do that tomorrow) but they're already asleep here in Europe.

To make a long story short. I wanted to ask the guys in America if anyone knows how to fix my maschine permanently.

Thanks for any answers.

I've had some strange things happen on my Quattro Micro Recently. It has an Acquity system. With this setup, they use an internet hub. The PC is connected to the EPC through the hub with the Acquity sample manager and HPLC pump. Another cable goes from the hub to the back of the instrument to a connector then from the connector to the EPC.

My problem turned out to be either the ethernet cable to the back connection on the instrument or the hub.

In my case the sample would hang-up and not start the next analysis.

Could you be having a connection problem to the EPC.

Could try pinging the EPC through the start/run command then ping epc -t to see if still communicating.

Uninstall the program and re-install it.

The problem has never come back since then. I don't think Waters has any clue with the problem yet.

It seems like you have some experience with UPLC and Micro. We are going to have a demo of the system: thinking of buying it as a mostly in vitro ADME/backup in vivo analysis machine. I am looking for comfort level with the setup, since it is so new to the market. Could you please tell me what problems you have encountered and how hard it it to transfer methods to UPLC etc. What about integration with Micromass machine? Appreciatively, -Katya
