GC-MS automatic run

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with my GC-MS (GC: Agilent 6890, MS: Leco): after each injection (with Combi PAL autosampler) I must run the GC by pressing the "Start" key on the GC panel. How can I automate GC runnig? Is there any setting in the LECO softwere or in GC panel? (actually after each injection, GC reamins in "Pre Run" until manually pressing the "Start" key" ) .
Thanks a lot.

There should be a start connection for the CombiPAL wired at the back of the GC. The LECO also needs a start signal - and I dont remember the details. While I have set up several of these, it's been a few years. It seems to me that the configuration for this is in the LECO manuals. They shoud be in electronic format on the instrument computer.
Was the instrument just set up by a vendor?

The instrument has not been used for 5 years and now I start to work with it. I don't know about setting up history. Everything works good except the auto-run.

Our PAL has an "Interface" connector that connects to the "Remote" jack on the back of the 6890 GC (its a split cable that also splits to the MS - its an Agilent MS so that part may be different for the LECO).

Problem is solved. Mine is working ok now. What version of Chromatof you are using? Let me know you email and I will guide you through required steps but need some info not to make any risky steps.

My problem is also solved. But I have other problems too:
1- My GC-MS has a FID detector. Can I use it in Chromotof software or it must be run with Agilent Chemstation? If so, how?
2- For sensitivity check, what compound should I use? The Leco manual suggested HCB at 2 ppb, but I haven't it.
Thanks

If you wish to use the FID along with the Pegasus, you should be able to take that signal into ChromaTOF.
HCB is readily available as a pre-made environmental standard. I typically order a couple of vials at a time. Typically you need to dilute the standard, so one vial will last you a l-o-n-g time. You need to keep the original solution tightly capped.
