TOGA help needed!

Hi! I am looking for transformer oil dissolved gas analyzer (TOGA) solution. I have proposal with capillary columns (HP-PLOT 5A 30m, 0.53mm, 50.0um + GS-CarbonPLOT 30m, 0.53mm, 3.00um) and another proposal with packed columns. Which solution is better, packed or capillary for TOGA?

I would always go capillary as separation should be better but either column system should be OK. The real differences are in the extraction methods, my favourite is with Headspace and D3612 method C.

Both GC configurations will work.

your challenge is the sample preparation.
I have seen several "capillary" solutions, but in-time they contaminate becuase of the residual oil. You need a could pre-separator for that.
If this is not assured, go for the packed solutions as that can take more "stress" before giving up.

I have run transformer oil analysis by GC-Headspace with capillary column. But I see some labs use stripper column for extracting the dissolved gases.
Anyone who have run on stripper column configuration could say which one is more advantageous ?
