how would you measure the gauge in that small size? I was always wondering if there is a similar solution for normal rheodyne injectors.Given the fragility of microliter-scale syringes, I would be very surprised to find *anything* second-hand. If students will be (ab)using them, syringes may get to be a considerable recurring expense.
Tjat siad, if you will be setting up for "filled loop" injection, then the accuracy of the syringe is irrelevant, and all you need is a luer-fiting syringe of the correct gauge with a blunt (flat) tip. AFAIK, the U6K takes a 25s gauge needle. In a pinch, I suppose you could just get 25 gauge disposable needles and grind the tips flat yourself.
Hamilton and SGE are the major players and are stocked by most LC/GC consumable suppliers. Thanks for the info. Have obtained a list of Hamilton syringes that are compatible with the U6K but not many are available on the cheap (second hand). Do you now of any other brands besides Hamilton that could fit the U6K? I am not that familiar with which companies manufacture chromatography syringes.
Much thanks
