Can DAD detector be used for UV spectrum?

I need UV spectrum and im using DAD detector from Hitachi.

engineer says "maybe, dad detector can read every information" but i couldn't find UV spectrum menu in HPLC software.

Can DAD detector show me UV spectrum?

In short, yes. Of course, you will find that it may not be quite as flexible or as sensitive as a bench-top UV would be, but you can generate spectra.

On my old PE system the UV spectra software was a separate program.
It was also sold for stand alone UV-vis spectrophotometers.
