Hello....

I am trying to put in service a VISTA II -ABB gas chromatographer . the chromatographer was not in service for 5 years. unfortunately an expert tried to put the chromatographer in service without success. the chromatographer measures Benzene and some other H/C . The peaks I am getting from the recorder are very long (enormous area) and for a long time e.g. 50 sec, fortunate in the same time at every cycle. can somebody help me how to achieve normal peaks ? how can I assume that the columns are ok?

I would guess you are way over your head. This is a multidimensional chromatograph.

Unless you have training you are likely to damage it and it sounds like one or more of your flows or valves are not working properly.

It is time to send for an authorized serviceman to correct your situation.

best wishes,

Rod

I had some training before. I also have fixed a similar one and re-programmed it also. That one I am facing the problem, has been checked by a specialist . concerning the valves , they work ok and any spare parts exists replaced with a new ones. Could ot be a column malfunction due to a long long period of non working condition? i remind you thatmy peaks have long area and look like a pulse

Sounds like programming times are all off.

What valve configuration are you using? What columns?
