Flexible Purge&Trap

I am looking for input on purchasing a new sample introduction system.

Is there a current industry standard for a purge+trap autosampler?
Are the products from Tekmar, INO, etc. the "best" out there?
What should I look for in a good system?
I would like this to be a flexible system, so I can move it from a GC/MS to an FID/NPD system easily.
What do you like to use?

Thanks for your input!

So nobody uses purge+trap here? No good/bad connotations?

Schmitty,

I guess the most traditional unit for P&T is the Tekmar. If you only intend to perform P&T and never want to do anything different, that is probably your best choice.

A more flexible unit is the CTC PAL autosampler, which also performs liquid, headspace, SPME, thermal desorption, beside a P&T attachment. If you want some info, please contact me directly.

Traditionally the OI unit is a better mechanical design, but support from Tekmar is better. I would recommend checking with other users in your area to see which company has the best service and support. If service and support are equal, the Eclipse design is probably still better than the Velocity based on the results I have seen from both systems.
