I just came accross this method in several food analytical chem papers and was curious about it.

I often use a Branson sonicator bath to help mix my samples. What kind of equipment do you need for it? It it mainly used for unprocessed plant tissue or flavors?
MSChemist,

In my opinion, US baths do not have enough oomph. That's why the EPA method for explosives has such a long extraction time.

Use a real US source.

What type of equipment do you need. The type with the probe that goes directly in solution. I used that back when I was doing Mol Bio to lyse E. coli cells.

I would think something similar to this would be what you need
