What I need is a good solvent system that seprates non polar compounds eluting off a silica column. ANy ideas????

Yeah what I need to know is some good solvent systems if anyone out there hs separated nat products!

Cheers  :D  :o

Use the same choices as if you were doing TLC. Hexane with a gradient of AcN or CH2Cl2, then slowly adding methanol would be a good start I would think. Then try to use an isocratic method based on your gradient experimentation. Generally, the active sites on what you are separating determines the active sites of the solvent you add to a non-polar solvent to elute non-polars from a normal phase column.
