Hi

Does anyone have any experience with the above mentioned as additives in samples for HPLC (what conc. is recomended)? Columns used are biphenyl 3µm 100X2,1 and C18 5µm 100X2,1. Mobilfase consist of methanol and water with salt pH around 7,5.

Thanks for the help.
Ivar

Why would you like to add these to the sample solutions?

Best Regards

I'm not the one that want to add, I just get to analyze.... Someone one time mentioned something about amount in sample for LC, but I can't remember where, when or what. They use those 3 to solubilize organic molecules that are not soluble in water. Then they would like a nice peak from HPLC.

Best regards

Hi Ivarg,

Well the one that wants these additives in the sample solvent might be forgetting that the molecules to be analyzed need to be soluble in the mobile phase as well – even more so. Otherwise they’ll get stuck on the whole system including the column and you’ll see no “nice peaks”
