Most of my experience is with LC but now I have some GC work in my future.

My question is for residual solvents headspace methods.

When performing system suitability and injecting 6 standards what specs are you typically looking for. I have need specs from 5.0% to 15.0% RSD.

Thanks
2% RSD is rather common. I would accept up to 3% depending upon the solvent. 1% or less can be achieved. If you have a splitter add 1% to each of these. The vials themselves often have a 1-2% variation in volume which is a big contributor to the variance.

best wishes,

Rod
