Hi,
I am new to LC-MS. We recently bought a used API-2000. We got it tuned by a service engineer. Now, I want to develop a method for a compound of known molecular weight, to get used to the instrument. However, I have couple of questions.

Should I start a Q1 MS scan first to get the Q1 Ion Mass and then to MRM scan to get Q3 ion? or

Directly start with MRM scan? If so what will be Q1 Mass and Q3 Mass?

I kindly request all to help me with steps to develop a method successfully. I have done one analysis using a previously developed method but not comfortable. As I want to understand the principle and actual way to work on the instrument.

I look forward to all your help.

Thanks and kind regards to all

Thank you very much Davidantony for your kind post. It helped me a lot. I now, can start from scratch to develop a method.

Hi David,

Do you know anyone who can come to Las vegas for a few days to train me on Agilent 6340 ion trap LC MS. Will pay travel, hotel and time

For balbir bhogal:

Agilent 6400 series training course:

Or, if you want customized on-site training from Agilent:

http://www.chem.agilent.com/en-US/Train ... ining.aspx

And FYI, it's a 6430, not a 6340, and it's a triple quad, not an ion trap.
