Hi,
We have used successfully Pinnacle PCX system (post-colum derivatisation, http://www.pickeringlabs.com/) with HPLC (Varian) for determination of polyether antibiotics in feed samples.
We wonder if it possible to applied UHPLC for post-column derivatisation with PCX instrument...
Any comments?

You will be adding quite a bit of extra column volume which will cost you quite a bit of efficiency. If you have more than enough resolution to begin with, you may be able to make it work, but I would not count on it.

Hello,

Because your eluant is at atmospheric pressure after the column and before the derivatization, you can use UHLPC with post derivatization instrument.

But you will loose a lot of resolution because there is a lot of dead volume in the Pinnacle.

Be carefull if you use salt buffer like eluant with an UHPLC system because you can plug it very easily.

Bear in mind that advantages of uhplc are due to particule size in the column and very low dead volume. So, if tou want to have benefits to use uhplc, you will need to change your column.

I hope it's help
