Hi there, I have a gas mixture of 300ppm SiF4 on balance N2. I am using a TraceGC-2000 with MXT-Q-Bond 0.35/30m column and a TCD detector. Helium is used as a carrier. Is anyone familiar with this Silicon tetrafluoride? I am trying to find the peaks of SiF4 but I don not know were to look or what oven temperature I need.

Next thing would be to find CF4 and SO2 on balance N2. Has anyone advise regarding this? Can it be done with this column? Many thanks in advance

I am not familiar with SiF4, and have never heard of anyone ever doing chromatography with it.

I suggest you speak to your vendor who prepared your sample and try to get a pure sample of SiF4 to perform reference time checks on your column of choice.

I have seen references on Supelco's web site concerning SiF6.

Good luck,

Rod
