Does anyone have HPLC or GC method for determination of propylene glycol and triacetin (glycerol triacetate) in flavors? Our mixture contains about 50% of triacetin, about 2% of PG, and the rest is mostly limonene.
We had no luck on the net so far.

Thanks in advance!

Hi orcicdejan,

We tried GC/MS analysis on DB-5MS column, and had no luck. Our first SCAN analysis was fine but only with high concentrations that I don’t prefer. However SIM analysis was terrible. There was just too much tailing of peaks. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to try HPLC analysis, so if you find a method please let me know. I remember that I had same problem with method finding on the net.

Good luck
