I will be performing some field work in an area where 5 USTs storing petroleum were removed and want to optimize the placement of monitoring wells. I have heard that you can use gas chromatography to analyze groundwater samples in the field.

What equipment do I need and where can I get it???

Any help is appreciated here.

Hi,well If I undestand your request, for quantitation hidrocarbons in ground water, one options if use a GC with FID detector ( may be the standard detection) another options if you want to characterize the hidrocarbon fraccion you will use a GC/MS ( with EI inonization)
may be for me the two options.....
