What is this piece of equipment? k1, kappa1, κ1

This likely isn't a chromatography question, but I was asked what a κ1 instrument is/does. (and then if we need one) The make or model is kappa 1 as far as I can tell, but I have no history with these, and other than a grainy cell phone picture, no details. It looks to be about 16 inches wide and perhaps 20 inches tall. A quick google search hasn't been overly fruitful. Any ideas, my Chromforum friends?
I'll try and post an image in the instrument tomorrow.

A google search using '' Kappa HPLC pump '' will help.
