Hello all. Hoping someone can help me out. I have an HP G1800A running the original HP vectra PC with windows 3.1.1. My PC just crapped out and having a difficult time sourcing another one. Does anyone know of any updates or upgrades to have this GCD run on a different slightly newer OS.

Thanks

J

I feel your pain! I have many customers with these older data systems still chugging along. I cringe everytime one fails. I do have a lot of contacts for parts and/or similar PC's. The problem with that is the replacements are as old as what you've got and are used. Some fail soon after replacement so you can be back in the same situation quickly. You can contact CSS Analytical for upgrades for your instrument. I have used their products to upgrade many of my customers' insturments and they work great. I'm sure there are other vendors who provide upgrades, but CSS has worked for me so I haven't tried any others. It can be pretty pricey if you need to upgrade hardware to work with the new software, but it will bring you into the 21st century and add years of life to your instrument. They will tell you what you need and give you a quote. I can look around for a PC replacement or parts for the PC if you want to give me a call (857) 277-9858. You can also place a free wanted ad on LabX. Good luck! I love those old instruments!
